Permaculture System Design Tool
Permaculture System Design Tool
While true, that doesn't help you when you are standing in a muddy field holding a shovel. You don't need more philosophy; you need a build plan.
We built the PermaGuide to bridge the gap between theory and engineering. This is not a video course. It is a computational design tool that treats your homestead like a biological machine.
It helps you assemble a "stack" of functional systems—water, food, energy, and soil—and then generates a cohesive, step-by-step implementation roadmap tailored to your specific bio-region.
Select Your Context: Tell the system if you are on arid clay, temperate loam, or in a tropical wet zone. The logic engine adjusts the advice immediately.
Assemble Your Guild: Drag and drop systems into your bundle. Choose from Swales, Greywater Basins, Rocket Stoves, Silvopasture, and more.
Run the Resilience Lab: Before you checkout, the tool runs a simulation against your design.
If not, the system will tell you exactly what you are missing.
Download the Gold Master: Unlock your PDF Field Guide. This contains the architectural SVG blueprints, seasonal maintenance calendars, and "Mistake Proofing" protocols for every system you selected.
Quick Start:
Select your soil and climate
Assemble systems
Run the resilience test
Download your custom field guide.
This tool balances water, energy, soil, and food systems into a cohesive plan tailored to your land.
A swale that works in Texas will cause a landslide in Vermont. A wicking bed perfect for an urban balcony will rot the roots of a tomato plant in a rainy tropical valley.
The PermaGuide uses a proprietary Logic Engine to prevent these errors. It utilizes a "Shadow Library"—a database of known failure modes. If you try to combine incompatible systems, or if you neglect the "Maintenance Debt" of your design, the tool alerts you before you waste money on infrastructure.
We designed this tool to function like a vending machine for blueprints.
You don't need to pay thousands of dollars for a consultant to tell you how to build a compost bay.
No Subscriptions: You pay once for the design you build.
Site-Specific: The "Implementation Watchlist" changes based on your soil type.
Engineering Grade: The outputs aren't rough sketches; they are schematic-level diagrams showing flow, inputs, and outputs.
This interactive tool complements our educational resources by:
Turning theory into applied design logic
Connecting articles, principles, and systems
Giving learners a way to think like a designer
It’s not a replacement for learning — it’s the bridge between learning and doing.
You receive a dynamically generated "Gold Master" Field Guide. This acts as a printable manuscript for your project. It organizes your chosen systems into chronological order (Phase 1: Hydrology, Phase 2: Infrastructure, etc.), provides a consolidated "Bill of Materials" estimate, and creates a quarterly operational almanac so you know exactly what to do in Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
Yes. The tool allows you to filter by constraint. If you select "Limited Space," the engine prioritizes high-density vertical systems like Hydroponic Towers, Wicking Beds, and Mushroom Logs, while hiding broad-acre systems like Swales or Silvopasture.
Sustainability is not the same as resilience. A system can be sustainable but fragile. Our Resilience Lab runs stress tests on your bundle. For example, if you design a food system that relies entirely on electric pumps, the system will flag a "Grid Dependency Risk" and suggest adding a gravity-fed backup.
Yes. Your purchase comes with a unique License Key. You can return to the Architect at any time, enter your key, and adjust your system loadout—adding new modules as your site evolves—and re-generate your Field Guide at no extra cost.
You don't need permission to start healing your land.
You just need a plan that actually works.
